Thursday's Paris game is now the most-watched regular-season NBA game ever on television in France.

The NBA Paris Games 2025 kicked off on Thursday with a clash between the Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs. The league received a great response in the first of the two games. The NBA Paris Game 2025 set several records across television viewership and digital and social media engagement, announced NBA.

According to the league, NBA League Pass viewership was up 19% worldwide and 41% in France compared to the previous year’s NBA game. Thursday’s Paris game is now the most-watched regular-season NBA game ever on television in France. Victor Wembanyama, who played his first game on his native soil, played a big role in increasing the number in the viewership. The Frenchman was the second most-viewed NBA player across the league’s social media accounts in 2024-25.

The Pacers-Spurs game was also the most-viewed NBA Global Game ever on the league’s social media accounts. It generated over 200 million views across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Threads, TikTok, X and YouTube, the league announced.

Victor Wembanyama guided the San Antonio Spurs to a 140-110 win over the Indiana Pacers to snap a three-game losing streak. The 21-year-old scored a game-high 30 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. He generated over 100 million views across the league’s social media platforms in the NBA’s Rivals Week.

Top celebrities from the NBA and soccer arrived to watch the Paris game and the crowd delivered a warm reception to Wembanyama. As per the league, both games were sold out within 24 hours. The second NBA Paris game will be played on Saturday, Jan. 25 at noon ET. This is also the first time the NBA is playing two regular-season games in Paris in the same season.
