Osaka is the No. 2 seed this week.
After an average start to her clay court season, Naomi Osaka has found her feet at the 2025 L’Open 35 de Saint-Malo in France this week. The Japanese starlet is looking to earn a much-needed title before heading to Paris for Roland Garros. She runs into home favourite Elsa Jacquemot on Friday for a spot in the final four. Who will prevail?
Naomi Osaka has beaten Petra Marcinko and Diane Parry en route to the quarterfinals. She dropped the first set against Parry, before impressing from the back of the court. On the other hand, Jacquemot overcame Marina Stakusic in Round-1, before taking out No. 6 seed Olivia Gadecki in the Round of 16. The two players have contrasting styles in what promises to be a tasty encounter for fans.

The head to head record between Naomi Osaka and Elsa Jacquemot is 0-0 at the moment. Friday’s quarterfinal will be the first meeting between the two players. Osaka is a four-time Grand Slam champion, and comes into the competition as the No. 2 seed. Nonetheless, the surface and crowd can give 21-year-old Jacquemot a confidence boost.

Naomi Osaka starts as the form favourite in this last eight battle on Centre Court. While she is yet to return to her best form, the 27-year-old has been seen working hard on her sliding and drop shots to excel on the red dirt. We believe her strong first serve and impeccable shot making is enough to upset the rhythm of Jacquemot.
Prediction: Naomi Osaka in three sets.
Naomi Osaka Win: 2/3
Elsa Jacquemot Win: 13/10
