Alyssa Thomas Keeps Her Stance Clear for potential lockout heading into CBA talks

“I think in the past when we’d talk lockout, it was hard,” Thomas shared her thoughts via Desert Wave Media Co. “So many young players don’t knowing, but I think we have a united front, and now people understand more and more how important that can be, so it’s exciting that we’re all on the same page.

“If a lockout is what it comes to, I think we’re prepared for that.”

Alyssa Thomas’ fellow teammate, Satou Sabally is also prepared for the CBA and she called the proposal ‘a slap in the face.’ Apart from her, Breanna Stewart, Angel Reese, and Natasha Cloud also had same opinions. Recently, the league had a meeting with the players where nothing transpired. Negotiations will be continued.

Players have shared their concerns regarding player salaries, and revenue sharing. The WNBA have reached its high in last two years and we have seen the growth since Caitlin Clark’s entry into the league. Market value and brand share skyrocketed. WNBA are slowly becoming a biggest women’s sport brand in the USA. The CBA is set to expire in October and players will continue fighting for a balanced CBA.

Thomas also spoke out on the fan culture in the WNBA. “At the end of the day, we’re here doing our jobs. They don’t have people coming to their jobs saying these nasty things,” she said.
