Lando Norris suggests some hilariously worrying examples to Mclaren for defending his title fight.
McLaren and their drivers have reestablished the hunting order of the F1 grid. After years, domination by Red Bull and Mercedes, a new team has emerged as a potential threat for the world championship. McLaren have become a force to be reckoned with after their victory in the 2024 season. McLaren managed to win the Constructor’s championship in 2024 with the help of their driver’s superior performance. The Papaya drivers boast ample talent and synergy which has helped them in 2025. They are leading the constructor’s championship in 2025. The team has secured two out of two victories in the 2025 season.
McLaren has achieved many milestones during the 2025 F1 season. They achieved their 50th 1-2 finish at the Chinese Grand Prix. They also won three races in a row for the first time since 2012. The Woking based outfit had stopped competing for wins and podiums in F1 for a long time. McLaren’s last driver’s championship came in 2008 with Lewis Hamilton behind the wheel. Their CEO Zak Brown would be looking forward to turn in positive results for 2025 Drivers Championship.
McLaren has never found themselves short of talented driver pairings. But unfortunately for them, many of these driver pairings have resulted in clash. Some of the famous driver pairings at McLaren include- Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. Senna and Prost were a cutthroat duo during their time in McLaren. However, they suffered the worst in one season due to the intense rivalry between Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.
McLaren had the dream pairing for 2007. Alonso, a 2-time world champion, and Hamilton, a super quick rookie in Formula 1. The entire season was unlucky for McLaren. They were kicked out of the constructor’s championship due to cheating allegations and illegal blueprints stolen from Ferrari. Furthermore, the Papaya could not contain their drivers from clashing throughout the year. In the end, Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari claimed the driver’s championship by one point. Hamilton and Alonso scored equal points but could not get the coveted title.
History repeating itself, Lando 😅👀#F1 pic.twitter.com/Pjhu4a0aND

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were recently interviewed about potential conflicts at McLaren. They were suggested that some tricky situations might arise like 2007 due to the balance and similarity in their talents and potential to win. Norris initially forgot the significance of 2007. He was quickly reminded by Piastri about the various moments between Hamilton and Alonso in 2007. Norris hilariously suggested that he would repeat the same. He went so far as to mention that, he would block the pit exit for his teammate behind him. Lando Norris’s statements might arise purely for fun, but they are sure to give McLaren a PTSD of 2007.

nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
