Lance Stroll has made a successful recovery to return to racing in Canada
The big announcement is finally out. After a successful recovery, Lance Stroll will be racing in the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend. Aston Martin and Stroll released a statement on Wednesday confirming his presence in the race. After a lot of speculations and rumors, Lance Stroll’s return to racing is now confirm.
Two weeks ago, Lance Stroll pulled out of the Spanish Grand Prix. In the official statement, it was quoted that Lance Stroll’s injury resurfaced, causing him to not take part in the race. Aston Martin were in deep trouble regarding his replacement. They had to run with only one car during the Spanish GP. Aston Martin F1 were assessing the options available for his replacement this weekend. However, Lance Stroll’s return has put all those probabilities to a rest.
Lance Stroll was the only point scoring driver for his team until the Spanish GP. His Spanish teammate was facing a string of unlucky DNFs and no-point finishes. Now that Stroll is back, the team can finally focus on getting the best out of their lineup.

Lance Stroll put in extra effort into his return this weekend. He raced extra laps at the Circuit Paul Ricard to make sure he is good to go.
“I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend. I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd. I’m feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare.”
According to the official statement released by Aston Martin F1-
“Lance had a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing and completed some laps in an old F1 car at Paul Ricard earlier this week. Lance is feeling fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd.”
Interestingly, neither of them have released an official answer to the allegations. Lance Stroll’s absence was Spain was rumored to be a temper tantrum from the driver. There were many reports about his behaviour not being up to the mark. Even though, the team is racing with Lance Stroll this weekend, they haven’t mentioned any details about the previous rumors.
I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university's Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
