The Cleveland Browns have decided to trade Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals, along with a 6th-round pick, in return for a 5th-round pick.
Flacco, who’s 40-years-old, played four games for the Cleveland Browns this year, completing 58.1 percent of his passes with just two touchdowns, and 6 interceptions in just 4 games.
The Browns decided to start rookie QB Dillon Gabriel in place of him in Week 5, and decided to keep Flacco as the backup option, before ultimately deciding to move him away from the team.
Joe Flacco led the Browns to a 1-4 start this season, with their only win coming against the Green Bay Packers, where Browns’ elite defense did most of the work. Flacco, as a starting QB in four games against the Bengals, Ravens, Packers, and Lions, threw at least one interception every game, and went scoreless in two games.
Flacco’s poor performance ultimately made Kevin Stefanski pull him out of the starting lineup and let his rookie QB Dillon Gabriel start instead. This was ultimately the deciding factory for the trade.
The Bengals on the other hand, with their QB1 Joe Burrow out with a turf toe injury, desperately needed a quarterback as their current backup, Jake Browning has thrown 8 interceptions in just 4 games that he’s played. The Flacco trade was in talks earlier, which has now come into reality.

The Bengals waived Mike White from the practice squad before the trade, leaving Brett Rypien on the active roster behind Browning.
Joe Flacco’s trade to the Bengals clears the Browns’ QB depth chart, solidifying rookie Dillon Gabriel as the starter after benching Flacco. This trade also elevates Shedeur Sanders from QB3 to direct backup, providing more reps and a clearer path to playing time for the fifth-round pick. Sanders will now also have a better chance to become a starter, provided that Gabriel ends up struggling as a starter.

The trade will accelerate Cleveland’s youth focus amid early struggles to their season thus far.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
