The Chargers’ offensive line took another hit Sunday when rookie left tackle Joe Alt was carted off in the second quarter against the Titans. The No. 5 overall pick is questionable to return with a right ankle injury, the same one that sidelined him earlier this season.

Midway through the second quarter, a Titans defender rolled into the back of Alt’s planted right leg on a running play. Alt collapsed, clutching the ankle and screaming in pain. Trainers quickly rushed over as he couldn’t put any weight on it. After two minutes on the turf, medical staff loaded him onto the cart.
Veteran Jamaree Salyer slid in at left tackle to protect Justin Herbert’s blind side.
This is deja vu for Alt as in Week 4 against the Giants, edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux fell into the same leg, causing a high ankle sprain. Alt missed Weeks 5-7, returning in Week 8 vs Minnesota. He had played every snap since, but that was until today.

Alt, 21, has started all eight games when healthy, earning praise as the league’s one of the top blockers. His absence forces Salyer into a sudden spotlight against Tennessee’s pass rush.

Next update is expected to come soon, but for now, the Chargers hold their breath as their cornerstone tackle is still being evaluated.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
