A hilarious post shared by ‘br_betting’ on social media has sent fans in a frenzy. The New York Jets recently acquired former Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields as their replacement for Aaron Rodgers, whom they will be releasing post June 01 when the new league year starts.

The signing of Fields provides the Jets with a completely new direction on offense as he brings more energy and youthfulness to their system. Furthermore, his dual-threat capabilities will allow the Jets to explore the running game with designed quarterback runs as well as his ability to scramble when under duress. Another positive aspect of this move pits the two former Ohio State Buckeyes’ teammates, Fields and wide receiver Garrett Wilson together as they can try to emulate the success they had in college.

As we can see, the Jets gamble on Fields may not be their worst decision ever. Certainly, New York seems to think they have a good chance of making this work given that they were pretty high on Fields after deciding to move on from Rodgers.

No Super Bowl Odds Relief for the Jets, Even After Signing Justin Fields

Funnily enough though, the bookmakers have a very different perspective on this signing altogether. As per DraftKings Sportsbook, the odds for the Jets winning the Super Bowl in the 2025 season before signing Fields were +15000. Now that they have signed Fields, the Jets’ odds for the same are still at +15000.

Teaming up with the likes of Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall should provide Fields a better opportunity than what he had earlier in his career with the Bears and Steelers, however, even then it seems highly unlikely for him to lead the Jets to the playoffs.

Currently, the +15000 odds to win the Super Bowl next year place the Jets near the bottom of the league with just the Giants (tied for +15000), the Saints, Browns and Panthers (+18000), and the Titans (+20000) all behind them. Ironically enough, even the Indianapolis Colts with Anthony Richardson as their starting quarterback who has done absolutely nothing himself have better odds at +110000.

These hysterical odds that didn’t budge even the slightest after the acquisition of Fields have left social media in absolute splits with several humorous posts. One user wrote about how these odds should reflect their ability to make the playoffs, much less the Super Bowl.

It seems that the New York Jets and their fanbase just can’t catch a break. Their last Super Bowl win came in 1969 in Super Bowl III, and judging by their odds for the upcoming year, it looks like the road to glory is still a long way away.
