World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has brushed aside his three month hiatus like it never existed. After winning the Australian Open in January, the Italian returned for his home tournament in Rome – where he reached the final. After a heartbreaking loss to Alcaraz in the Roland Garros summit clash, the 23-year-old exacted revenge by dethroning the Spaniard at Wimbledon. Sinner is undefeated on hard courts in 2025, and comes in with a win-loss record of 29-3 throughout the year.

Just like his opponent, Felix Auger-Aliassime also who has two titles to his name this year. Yet, it has been a rather underwhelming campaign in large parts. The Canadian began his season with two trophies in Adelaide and Montpellier, before making the semis in Doha and final in Dubai. Since then, Auger-Aliassime has yet to contest another title-decider. Ranked No. 28 in the world at the moment, he beat Etcheverry, Rinderknech and Bonzi to enter the quarterfinal stage.

While Auger-Aliassime has a compact game style, he tends to collapse when he is pushed on the back foot. The young Canadian tends to err on the higher side when it comes to forced errors, and lacks a change of tactic when his game plan doesn’t work. Both players will aim to take the ball out of the strike zone of their opponent. However, Sinner is currently executing his strokes better than anyone else on tour, and will be desperate to earn a victory over Auger-Aliassime.
