The Kansas City Chiefs are close to becoming the greatest dynasty ever

The Kansas City Chiefs are closing in to three-peat in the 2024 season. They could become the first NFL franchise to three-peat, if they win against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl LIX. The Chiefs had a dominant run in the 2024 season. They finished with the best record in the AFC with 15-2 and have been undefeated in the playoffs so far.

One of the two teams they lost against, have already been eliminated by the Chiefs. They beat the Houston Texans in the divisional round and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship round. Now that they are so close to a three-peat, one does wonder how did the Chiefs become so dominant in the recent years?

Year after year, no team in the NFL has had any answer for Kansas. In fact, Mahomes has only lost against two quarterbacks in the playoffs so far. One’s a retired legend, Tom Brady, and another’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Joe Burrow. As far as the rest of the league, they’ve tried, yet these teams just cannot get past the Chiefs.

We just saw Josh Allen and the Bills lose their fourth straight playoff contest against the Chiefs. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens got their chance in the 2023 season but came up short. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles reached the Super Bowl in 2022 and had a huge lead but ultimately lost the matchup.

There are tiers to how great a quarterback is. On one side we have Jackson, Allen, Burrow, Hurts, Purdy and many more. On the other side we have Patrick Mahomes who is in a league of his own. Under Mahomes and Andy Reid’s leadership, the Kansas City Chiefs have at least made the Conference finals for 7 straight season. They’ve had 5 Super Bowl appearances so far and have won 3 of them.

Therefore, it is safe to say that if the Chiefs win one more, they will become the greatest dynasty in the NFL. So how did the Chiefs do this? Let’s find out.

The Chiefs have made some of the most prolific draft choices and signings in the recent years. Their front office’s decisions have helped them become the team that they are today. Andy Reid, the head coach for the Chiefs, was hired in 2013 and has turned the franchise around. Let us look at who they’ve drafted and traded over the years.

The Chiefs will now be looking forward to playing against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Super Bowl LIX is on February 9th, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. It will be the second time that the two teams will play against each other in the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs are looking to win their third-straight title and become the first team to do a three-peat! Whereas, Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni are trying to win their first Super Bowl, after failing to win one in 2022.
