Luka Doncic finally made his highly-anticipated debut for the Los Angeles Lakers following his blockbuster acquisition from the Dallas Mavericks. The Lakers routed the Utah Jazz 132-113 for the sixth straight win. Luka Doncic was given a warm reception from the franchise and all the fans received a yellow Lakers Doncic jersey with No. 77 on the back.
The former Mavericks star was listed as questionable against the Utah Jazz on the injury report and was later upgraded to probable. JJ Redick put him on a minutes restriction due to his first game after a calf injury, sustained on Christmas Day in the loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki was also in attendance to watch Luka Doncic making Lakers debut. The five-time NBA All-Star was in the starting lineup alongside LeBron James, who returned after missing a win against the Pacers.
Luka Doncic was not looking comfortable at the beginning of the game and scored 5 points in the first quarter on 2-for-3 shooting. The Lakers continued their domination and held a 72-47 lead at halftime. Luka Doncic entered the game for LeBron James with 7:44 left in the period. He tallied six points and missed three 3-point shots in the 2nd quarter.
JJ Redick benched Luka Doncic after the third quarter and LeBron James also left the court in the starting of the fourth quarter. The former Dallas star finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists over a 24-minute stay while shooting 5-for-14. Luka went 1-for-7 from 3-point range on his debut.
