How many points did D’ Angelo Russell score on his return to Brooklyn Nets?

Russell scored 22 points over 26 minutes while shooting 9-for-13.

D’Angelo Russell made a return to Brooklyn Nets and his NBA journey has come full circle. Since the trade from the Lakers, Russell came back to the Nets’ roaster and scored 22 points off the bench in a 130-117 loss to the Raptors.

Russell arrived with Maxwell Lewis and three second-round picks in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton. The 28-year-old gave a slice of his excellence in his first game but Nets suffered a 13-point loss. Cam Johnson led the Nets with 24 points. Nic Claxton added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Immanuel Quickley also returned for Raptors after injury and scored a double-double with 21 points and 15 assists. Scottie Barnes dropped a game-high 33 points and 13 rebounds while Gradey Dick added 22 points for the Raptors.

Toronto Raptors had a 94-91 lead at the end of third quarter. A 25-6 run in the fourth quarter helped Raptors to snap league’s longest active 11-game losing streak.

The player who first played for Nets in 2017, returned as the veteran guard in 2024 and showed his excellent performance. Russell scored 22 points over 26 minutes while shooting 9-for-13. He had two rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. He fell short of two assists of securing a double-double on his return.

Russell’s 16 points came in the first half when Raptors had a 65-64 lead. The 28-year-old led the Nets in third quarter with a 11-3 run. He earned his only NBA All-Star appearance with Nets during the first stint and showed a better version on the court tonight.
