The New York Jets have gone for a change of culture with Aaron Glenn and Justin Fields!

It has been a long long playoff draught for the New York Jets whose last postseason appearance came way back in the 2010 season. It has now been 14 straight seasons of regular-season disappointments in the green half of New York and based on the way things are at the moment, it seems like the wait will continue for another year at the very least.

Unfortunately for the Jets, their two-year experiment with Aaron Rodgers under center went horribly wrong, first with his ACL injury which sidelined him for the entire 2023 season followed by an inconsistent 2024 season that even the addition of DaVante Adams couldn’t salvage.

New York is heading in a different direction now and for that, they have hired former Lions’ defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as their new head coach. They might not have found the perfect answer at quarterback, but with a 2-year deal to Justin Fields, they have a young and dynamic signal caller who can make use of his feet as well as his hands. The question now is how good of a roster the Jets have and what they will do with their draft picks during the 2025 NFL draft.

What Are the Jets’ Draft Picks in 2025?

New York has a total of 8 draft picks this year with their first-round selection at number 7 overall. That first-round pick is at quite a high position which means they have an opportunity to snag one of the best players available at this year’s draft.

With the exception of round 7 where they do not have any draft picks at the moment, the Jets will be selecting once from rounds 1 to 4 and twice each in rounds 5 and 6.

Positional Needs for the Jets

The main need and the obvious one for the Jets is the right tackle position on offense. Their previous right tackle Morgan Moses has joined divisional rivals, the New England Patriots and current starter Chukwuma Okorafor played only 12 snaps last season. More on offense, New York should look to add another complimentary receiver for Garrett Wilson as Allen Lazard and Tyler Johnson may not be enough help for Fields.

Over on defense, the Jets need to strengthen their interior defense as well as add another able cornerback opposite Sauce Gardner. Brandon Stephens had one of the worst years in 2024 with PFF grading him to be the sixth-worst in coverage amongst all corners.
