Guenther Steiner Issues Warning to Struggling Yuki Tsunoda!

Rohan Singh

Yuki Tsunoda finds himself in trouble according to Guenther Steiner's predictions

Guenther Steiner is not the type to mince his words. The former Haas team principal is known for his brutally honest opinions. Steiner maybe away from Formula 1, however, he doesn’t shy away from commenting on the recent happenings in the sport. It was only a matter of time before he would share his opinion on Red Bull Racing. Although, Guenther Steiner’s words are not directed towards any of the popular names.

Steiner has chosen to warn Yuki Tsunoda about his future at Red Bull Racing. His words are a direct correlation to Christian Horner and his sacking. Yuki Tsunoda is in the dreaded second seat with Red Bull Racing. Tsunoda has been vastly underperforming since joining the Bulls. He is also lagging behind his teammate by a huge margin. While, Red Bull Racing have been feeling confident about Tsunoda, Steiner’s advice is full of caution for the Japanese driver.

Guenther Steiner Asks Yuki Tsunoda to Deliver Better Performances

Yuki Tsunoda earned himself a promotion to Red Bull Racing, two races in the 2025 season. As always, he was expected to bridge the gap between the first and second car for the team. However, Tsunoda has joined the club of drivers who are failing miserably to compete at the same level as Max Verstappen.

Yuki Tsunoda has not put his car in the top-5 even once this season. To make matters worse, he is almost always starting from the back of the grid spending the entire race scavenging for points.

Red Bull Racing have allowed Yuki Tsunoda the entire 2025 season, however, Guenther Steiner doesn’t feel too confident about the time allotted to him-

“Yuki Tsunoda needs to make points, otherwise I really think latest end of the year, he’s out of there, but it could be before. As much we love Yuki, because I love him as well, it’s one of these things. He needs to bring the performance. I think this is saying, ‘we let Christian Horner go, we changed Liam Lawson’. So it’s one of these things. If he doesn’t shape up, he will not be there for a long time anymore.”

Steiner’s concern are valid as Red Bull Racing makes sudden decisions without taking into account the future of the driver impacted. There’s no doubt that Liam Lawson’s sudden removal from the team cost him a lot of confidence early on in the 2025 season.

Now that Isack Hadjar is starting to become the star of the show, he is going to be the next probable replacement for Yuki Tsunoda. If the Japanese driver doesn’t step up and bring in better results, he won’t have any support in the team.
