Giants’ Malik Nabers dismisses concerns over drops: “I don’t care… keep throwing me the ball”

Malik Nabers dismisses drop concerns, keeps confidence high

Malik Nabers doesn’t seem too worried about his drops. Like, at all. After the Giants’ Thanksgiving loss to the Cowboys, he didn’t shy away from the conversation. Instead, he made it crystal clear how he feels about it.

“I don’t care about drops,” Nabers told reporters, including Dan Duggan of The Athletic. “It’s just part of football. I don’t care if I drop the ball six times. Keep throwing me the ball.

That’s bold, right? But that’s just Malik Nabers. He even laughed about how “happy” he was with his 13 targets during the game.

“It helps me get into a rhythm to get hit a few times and feel the ball,” he added.I think we did well as an offense… just came up a little short. A few areas that need cleaning up, and we win that game.

Is confidence enough for Malik Nabers to fix this?

Here’s the thing: confidence is great, but drops are still a problem. Nabers has seven on the season now, which is more than any other rookie receiver. His drop rate? 8.5%. Not ideal. He’s in a group with players like CeeDee Lamb and Garrett Wilson—except they’re not struggling with drops like he is.

And let’s be honest, it’s not like these are harmless mistakes. Some of his drops have been on third downs—crucial moments. But Nabers isn’t backing down. He’s got that “just throw it to me again” attitude, which says a lot about how he sees himself. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan even pointed out:

“Malik Nabers is a tremendous player. But he needs to clean up these drops.”

The Giants can’t afford this

Here’s where it stings for the Giants. This team leads the league in missed catches—26, to be exact—and Nabers has played a big role in that. Against the Cowboys, Drew Lock put a perfect pass right in his hands, and he dropped it. You can’t have that, especially when your offense is already struggling.

But here’s the flip side: Nabers is still their best guy. He’s got the size, the speed, the strength—everything you want in a playmaker. The Giants need him, and most of the time, he delivers when it matters. But if he keeps dropping balls, even his biggest supporters might start asking questions.

For now, he’s brushing it off like it’s no big deal. Let’s see if that confidence actually leads to fewer drops—or just more headlines.
