Austrian Grand Prix 2025: Ferrari to Debut First Major Upgrade!

Rohan Singh

Ferrari reveal big plans for the upcoming race weekend!

The 2025 season is not going well for the challengers from Maranello. Ferrari are going to arrive in Austria with heavy disappointments dragging behind them. The team is countering numerous issues with their car’s balance and unpredictable pace. The only weekend Ferrari ever challenged for a win was in Monaco. Charles Leclerc was miraculously throughout the weekend in Monaco. But, it was a one-off performance which never came back.

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton is regularly calling for upgrades with Ferrari’s car. Toto Wolff has listed some of the major issues he might be facing in the team. However, for Hamilton the car has been worryingly slow throughout the first 11 races this year. He is constantly lagging behind his teammate and often facing reduced pace during the Grand Prix. The Prancing Horses want to overturn these results with their upgrade which is going to make the reveal at Red Bull Ring.

Ferrari Bring in a New Floor Upgrade for the Austrian Grand Prix

Ferrari could claim second place in the driver’s championship earlier this month due to Charles Leclerc’s podiums. However, their progress is under threat from Mercedes and Red Bull Racing. Mercedes won the last race and they will be looking forward to defending their victory in Austria. The Silver Arrows won in Austria in the previous season. As such, it is more than necessary to start progressing forward in the championship.

Ferrari were unable to bring forth any deciding upgrades in Canada due to logistical concerns. According to AutoRacer.it, Diego Tondi and Loic Serra of Ferrari had to work from scratch in order to bring these upgrades. It is going to be the “first true attempt” to correct the wild SF25 and bring it on track.

The upgrades are not going to create any miracles as such and will refine the car. Silverstone is the race Ferrari is attempting to dominate keeping in mind the next year’s regulations. Ferrari will be focusing on the floor of the car after their attempt to fix the rear suspension. Lewis Hamilton has been particularly vocal about the SF25’s problems with the floor.

The report also explains why the upgrades arrived too late with their SF25. It is said that the first few races put forward many conceptual errors with their car. The car is going to be more “conservative” and in line with initial ambitions for the 2025 season.

Red Bull Ring is going to be the first true test for Ferrari. If their upgrades do not work this weekend, they will be in trouble in Silverstone and upcoming 2026 F1 regulations. The SF25 team and their drivers will looking forward to Austria. Dino Beganovic is going to be the first to test car in Charles Leclerc’s stead during the FP1 session.
