What should you keep in mind about the Miami International Autodrome this weekend? Read ahead to know more.

The Miami International Autodrome makes a return to F1 in 2025. The F1 entourage travels to America for the first time in 2025. F1 is going to visit America three more times, but Miami is going to be different. It is going to be the only street circuit in America with an almost permanent infrastructure.

The Miami Dolphins’ home ground- Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens, is known to provide a breathtaking view of the race to the fans.

The Miami International Autodrome is going to host the first race after F1’s break from the triple header weekend. The race is going to follow the sprint schedule, which means fans will witness racing action from the first day itself at Miami International Autodrome.

The Miami International Autodrome will host the Miami GP weekend from April 2- April 3. Racing action begins as soon as 4:00 PM on track with the Sprint Qualifying session.

Let’s have a brief overview of the Miami circuit before F1 cars hit the tarmac on Friday.

Miami International Autodrome History

The Miami circuit hosted its first Formula 1 race in 2022. The track was unveiled as street track hosting a sprint weekend. The first Miami GP was won by Max Verstappen for Red Bull Racing. Incidentally, the track was supposed to join Formula 1 as soon as 2019.

In 2018, there was a proposal to host a Miami Grand Prix in F1. However, the race was postponed to the 2021 season due to complications in construction. Yet again, Miami could make the cut as F1 introduced Jeddah as their newest circuit in the 2021 season. Miami Grand Prix of 2022 was won Max Verstappen for Red Bull Racing.

F1 has also provided a humongous 10-year contract to the Miami circuit for hosting races. Max Verstappen has won the most race at Miami while Lando Norris is the defending winner. Norris won his first F1 race at Miami in the 2024 F1 season.

The Miami circuit will host 57 laps of racing action during the main race, covering a total distance of 308.326 km. Following are the statistics for the track-

The Miami International Autodrome is known for its high speeds. F1 cars are known to push speeds more than 350 kmh at the track. However, the track is equally treacherous with uneven ground and elevation changes.
