Everton have completed the signing of highly-rated winger Tyler Dibling from Southampton in a deal worth up to £42m. The agreement will see the Toffees pay an initial £35m, with a further £7m in add-ons, while Southampton have included a 20% sell-on clause in the deal. The 19-year-old England Under-21 international has signed a four-year contract at Goodison Park.
Notably, the youngster becomes David Moyes’ eighth summer recruit following the arrivals of Thierno Barry, Jack Grealish, Mark Travers, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Adam Aznou, Tom King, and the permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz after his loan spell. His arrival takes Everton’s total summer spending to £124m.

Dibling enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season, making 33 Premier League appearances for Southampton and scoring two goals, despite the club’s relegation. A product of the Saints’ academy, he made his senior debut at 17 and previously drew headlines at youth level when he netted a stunning hat-trick against Newcastle for the U21s. He briefly joined Chelsea in 2022 but returned to St Mary’s after just a month, struggling to settle in London.

Tracked by clubs including RB Leipzig, Tottenham and Aston Villa, Dibling chose Everton as his next step, describing the club as the “perfect fit.” Speaking after completing the move, he said,
“I’ve never been so excited to play football and I’m just ready to get going. I think it’s the perfect match because of where the club is right now. Obviously with the new stadium, the fans here are unreal and it has a family feel to it. I think it was the perfect fit and was a no-brainer to join. I think I’ve come to Everton at the perfect time and hopefully I can be here for many years.”

Dibling has often cited Jack Grealish as one of his inspirations, and now finds himself alongside the England international as teammates at Goodison Park. Everton will be hoping the teenager’s pace, creativity and flair can add a fresh spark to Moyes’ side as they look to push on in the Premier League this season.
