Borussia Dortmund are on the verge of securing a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva, with talks between the two clubs now at an advanced stage. Roma were also interested in the Portuguese forward, but Dortmund have moved quickly to close the deal. The 23-year-old is set to become Dortmund’s fifth signing of the summer.
According to reports from The Athletic, Dortmund have proposed a fee in the region of €25m (£21.6m), with discussions ongoing regarding add-ons and the final structure of the transfer. Sports Journalist Florian Plettenberg further revealed that Silva has already reached a full verbal agreement with the Bundesliga giants on a contract running until 2030, and he is prepared to undergo a medical once the fee is finalized.

According to reports, the final transfer fee should land between €22m and €25m, with an announcement expected imminently. Notably, Fabio Silva joined Wolves from Porto in 2020 for a club-record £35m fee. However, the Portugese never managed to fully settle in the Premier League. The one-cap Portugal international has been loaned out four times in the last three years, spending spells at Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers and most recently Las Palmas.

At the Spanish club, Silva showed glimpses of his talent, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 24 La Liga appearances, though he was unable to prevent their relegation. Despite that, Dortmund see him as a valuable addition to their attacking options and are ready to offer him a long-term deal. Dortmund have already signed Jobe Bellingham, Patrick Drewes, Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino in the summmer transfer window.
