Learn All About What Daniel Cormier Has To Say to Jon Jones Regarding His Fight With Tom Aspinall.
Daniel Cormier seems to have had just about enough of Jon Jones’ tantrums. It all started with Jon Jones’ comments about how he would have defeated Daniel Cormier even worse at Heavyweight if he was still competing.
Jon Jones also has avoided Tom Aspinall’s callout for a fight so far. Moreover, he also boasted that Tom Aspinall has not proven anything despite being the interesting Heavyweight Champion. He did not want a title unification fight against Tom Aspinall. Jones said that he would rather fight Alex Pereira, who was the light heavyweight champion then. All this seems to have riled up Daniel Cormier in the wrong way. So what did the former UFC Champion and present broadcaster have to say to his old rival?
Daniel Cormier finally addressed the Tom Aspinall and Jon Jones issue via his YouTube channel Daniel Cormier. He extended his full support to Tom Aspinall who had grown frustrated waiting for Jon Jones to show up. Daniel Cormier responded that it does not matter what Jon Jones would have done to him when he was active. He then continued (via Daniel Cormier on YouTube)-
“How about this? I’ve got a novel idea for you. I’m retired. I’m done. I’m 46. I’m washed up. I’m a broadcaster. I’m a commentator. I’m a talking head. How about this novel idea? Fight the dude that’s actually wants to fight. I don’t want to fight Jon Jones. I’ve no desire to fight anyone. But how about fighting the dude that’s actually waiting to fight you, Tom Aspinall right?”
Daniel Cormier further revealed that the young fighter has grown frustrated up to his neck.He revealed that fans are always asking about the date of this fight. Moreover, Dana White is trying to convince the fans that the fight will happen. Jon Jones meanwhile, is in Thailand doing a reality show which will take another month. Cormier also criticized Jones that fans do not care about what would have happened in the past. They want to know what would happen when Tom Aspinall fights Jon Jones.
However, Daniel Cormier also urged the UFC fans not to assume that Tom Aspinall can defeat Jon Jones. This is because Daniel Cormier knows how good and tough of a fighter Jon Jones is. He also knows how hard it is to defeat or try to defeat Jon Jones is.
Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones have been rivals throughout their UFC careers. Both of them have won the Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight titles in the UFC during their careers. Jon Jones even had held the interim Heavyweight title in his career. Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones have faced each other twice inside Octagon. Their first fight at UFC 182 ended in a loss for Daniel Cormier. Their second fight at UFC 214 resulted in a no-contest after Jones tested positive for using Turinabol.
