The Dallas Wings are reportedly trying to make one more move before the WNBA trade deadline ends on Thursday, August 7. Recently, the Wings traded DiJonai Carrington to the Minnesota Lynx in exchange for Diamond Miller, Karlie Samuelson, and Minnesota’s 2027 second-round pick. This year, the Wings made several trades, and it seems that they are still not done yet.

According to ClutchPoints, the Wings may attempt one more trade. However, it is expected to be a “50/50” situation, which means there is no guarantee that anything will happen. As per reports, the Wings are interested in acquiring a small forward or a power forward. Several sources around the team suggest that the Wings believe in their young group of players, including Paige Bueckers, Aziaha James, and Maddy Siegrist.

Since there is no uncertainty so far, the Wings will be a team worth closely monitoring ahead of the deadline. However, them making one more move won’t be surprising considering how the team has been active right from the beginning.

The Dallas Wings waived Karlie Samuelson a day after signing her. Notably, Samuelson was a part of the trade that sent DiJonai Carrington to the Minnesota Lynx, and signed Diamond Miller, Samuelson, and a 2007 second-round pick. The deal came a month after the Wings traded away NaLyssa Smith to the Las Vegas Aces. On Monday, just a day after the deal was finalized, the Wings announced that they would waive Samuelson.

Notably, Samuelson was already ruled out for the season after suffering a left foot injury in June. According to reports by Winsidr’s Melissa Triebwasser, the decision to waive Samuelson was agreed by both parties. It is expected that the Wings would want to sign her back over the offseason, when she is completely recovered from the injury. Notably, the 30-year-old played 16 games for the Lynx this season and averaged 3.3 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.
