Ivan Ivan Joins the Colorado Eagles Following Activation from Injured Reserve
The Colorado Avalanche revealed that they have activated forward Ivan Ivan from the injured reserve and are sending him to their American Hockey League partner, the Colorado Eagles. The 22-year-old was a positive narrative for the Avalanche earlier in the season, reaching the NHL in his second pro year and stepping in as a substitute while Colorado faced major injuries.
Ivan went undrafted from the QMJHL after playing three seasons with the Cape Breton Eagles and successfully converted a strong final season into an AHL contract with Colorado in August 2023. During his initial professional season with the Eagles, he recorded 12 goals and 19 assists over 67 matches.

The Avalanche recognized the talent of the Ostrava, Czech Republic native sufficiently to sign him to a two-year ELC last March, and he quickly made his NHL debut.

He played his first NHL game on October 9th versus the Vegas Golden Knights and earned his initial NHL point a few days later with an assist against Columbus. In total, Ivan played in 37 matches, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
Ivan might make a comeback to the NHL this season if the Avalanche face more injury problems, but currently, Colorado has been improving health-wise, even though there are still some issues with a few injured forwards.
nhl I’ve always loved writing and storytelling, and hockey gives me a perfect stage for endless stories to tell. Whether it’s breaking down a game, analyzing a big trade, or capturing the emotions on the ice, I bring the NHL to life through words. So what’s the best part you ask? Watching the action unfold and turning it into something fans can connect with. To my readers: Hockey is more than just a game—it’s the highs, the heartbreaks, and the moments that make us jump off our seats. So, keep cheering, keep debating, and never stop loving the madness of the sport!
