Jack Della Maddalena has already found his next opponent inside the Octagon. The Australian MMA fighter defeated Belal Muhammad and have become the new UFC Welterweight Champion at UFC 315.
Jack Della Maddalena’s next opponent has turned out to be Islam Makhachev, the UFC Lightweight Champion. These two champions have already started trash talking and throwing verbal blows at each other even before they meet inside the Octagon. Jack Della Maddalena earned his first UFC title at UFC 315 and became the new Welterweight Champion. He defeated the former champion Belal Muhammad to achieve this feat. He kept on adding to his undefeated streak and also earned a Fight of the Night bonus from his latest competiton.
Islam Makhachev, the UFC Lightweight champion immediately has targeted Jack Della Maddalena as his next opponent. He has earlier stated that he would get his next opponent from the main event at UFC 315. Now that UFC 315 is done and dusted, Islam Makhachev has gotten his next opponent (via his official X account)-
Islam Makhachev however, has stated that he will not be vacating his UFC Lightweight title and will be aiming to become a double champion.
Jack Della Maddalena has revealed to an interviewer that he wants to avenge his fellow countryman Alexander Volkanovski. He will only manage to do it by defeating Islam Makhachev. Notably Volkanovski, a.k.a. Volk was defeated twice by Makhachev at UFC 284 and at UFC 294 in 2023. Now, his fellow countryman Jack Della Maddalena has stepped up to right those wrongs. Notably, he has also revealed to the interviewer that fighting Islam Makhachev will be a wonderful challenge and he will avenge Volk (via UFC on X).
