Chelsea To Wear Club World Cup Winners Badge for Next Four Years

As well as a newly designed badge, FIFA also made a different trophy for their rebranded competition this year.

Chelsea have officially secured the right to wear the new FIFA Club World Cup Champions badge on their kits for the next four years. They earned the reward following their dominant 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the 2025 Club World Cup in New Jersey.

Cole Palmer was the star of the show, scoring twice within the first 30 minutes and later assisting Joao Pedro for a third. The performance capped off a sensational campaign for Enzo Maresca’s side, who not only lifted the newly designed Club World Cup trophy but also banked close to $115 million in prize money across the tournament.

With this win, Chelsea will proudly sport the gold FIFA World Champions badge on their shirts for the next four seasons. This privilege was extended by FIFA after the tournament’s format was changed this year. Previously, the badge was worn for just 12 months under the old annual format. FIFA’s restructured Club World Cup will now take place every four years like the FIFA World Cup. As a result, the reigning champions will wear the commemorative badge throughout their reign. The next tournament is set for 2029.

A New-Look Badge for a New Era

The badge itself has undergone a redesign this year. The traditional shield shape of the FIFA Club World Cup Champions badge now features a circular gold logo instead. Notably, Chelsea will become the first club to wear this updated version. This new badge not only celebrates Chelsea’s triumph on the global stage but also ensures their world champion status will be visible across every competition, domestic and international, until at least 2029.

As well as a newly designed badge, FIFA also made a different trophy for their rebranded competition this year. Now, Chelsea will prepare to kick off the upcoming Premier League season with this rare honour stitched onto their kits. Chelsea open their new campaign on August 17 against FA Cup winners Crystal Palace.
