Charles Leclerc has spent three seasons with Fred Vasseur as of 2025. The Monegasque is Ferrari’s lead driver during the 2025 season. He is contributing immensely to the team’s championship with multiple podium finishes. Under Vasseur’s mentorship at Ferrari, Leclerc was able to win multiple races last year. His 2025 season may not be as sparkly as the previous season but Leclerc is still working forward with the team.
Ferrari recently put forth a new announcement concerning Fred Vasseur. In spite of recent rumors, which included talks about his replacement, Ferrari chose to go forward with a new contract. Under this contract extension, it is tipped that Fred Vasseur is going to lead the team for multiple years in future. The Frenchman was incredibly frustrated with the stories revolving around his exit from Ferrari. Although, his drivers are more than happy to work with him for the upcoming seasons. Here’s what Charles Leclerc has to say about the same.
Charles Leclerc is visibly performing better than his previous seasons at Ferrari. In 2022, he was working with a championship winning car but certain mistakes from the team and his side left him wanting for more. With Vasseur’s arrival at Ferrari, Leclerc has been leading the team from front.
In the 2025 season, even his seven-time-champion is facing number of difficulties trying to tame the Prancing Horse. On the other hand, Charles Leclerc is taking the fight up to the frontrunners nearly every weekend. His SF25 is yet bring forth race winning performance, but Leclerc has full belief in his team principal.
“I think we’re having a very good season if we look at my performance as a driver. Of course, a few poor races can happen and here of course I’m talking about Silverstone. But in general I think I can be satisfied."

“I think what’s very difficult within Ferrari is the emotion is very much part of the daily job, because Italian people in general – and that’s what makes Ferrari so special – are extremely passionate about Ferrari. But Fred really knows how to leave his emotions aside and have a clear vision of where we are at, no matter how much noise there is around the team. This is very, very important.”
“Apart from that, he’s got obviously many more qualities. One of them is also to extract the maximum out of every single person at the factory. This, when you put everything together, makes a big difference.”
The best part about Ferrari’s current pairing is the synergy between them. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have both won titles under Fred Vasseur in the lower Formula series. Ferrari is hoping to take advantage of the same and return to winning ways soon.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
