Ferrari and their team principal are going to continue working together beyond the 2025 season. The Maranello has decided to extend contract of their current team principal, Fred Vasseur. The team is confident in their team principal’s ability to take the team forward. Ferrari were 14 points behind the constructor champions in 2024. Even after a rough start to 2025, the Prancing Horses are second in the constructor’s championship.

The team was battling rumours about replacing Fred Vasseur. Christian Horner was among the prospective replacements for Vasseur at Ferrari. Team principals like Toto Wolff, came in support of Vasseur bolstering his credibility for the team. The new contract with Vasseur has put an immediate end to the stories prevailing around the team. Fred Vasseur is expected to “build upon the foundation” that has been set in the previous years.

Fred Vasseur and the team have come a long way forward after their disastrous start to 2025. The team has won podiums in two out of the last three races courtesy of Charles Leclerc. Lewis Hamilton who was out of form initially is starting to look much faster with the new upgrades to the SF25.

Fred has been incredibly supportive of his team in the past years. Vassuer makes sure to defend Ferrari in front of media and bring forth better results whenever the team is questioned. It is one of his best qualities as team principal.

Moreover, Fred Vasseur is also the reason why Lewis Hamilton became a part of the Maranello camp. The challenge which lies ahead of the team is huge. Ferrari have to cover a magnificent gap to McLaren. They are also racing without a single victory in the 2025 championship.

With only 11 more races to go, Ferrari needs to step up its game and bring forward better results. Vasseur’s involvement with the team and his commitment to Ferrari beyond 2025 is a key factor in the positive development of the team.
