Carlos Alcaraz Hits 50th Win in Cincinnati to Extend Fourth-Year Record Streak

Alcaraz reaches a milestone in Cincinnati, securing a record unmatched in today’s ATP.

Carlos Alcaraz has carved yet another line in tennis history, becoming the only player to record 50 or more match wins in four consecutive seasons. The world No. 2 achieved the feat with a composed 6-4, 6-4 victory over Hamad Medjedovic at the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati on Tuesday, extending his 2025 record to 50-6. The last man to manage such a streak was Novak Djokovic, who accomplished it from 2013 to 2016.

The Numbers Behind Alcaraz’s Historic Win Streak

Alcaraz’s run is unmatched in the current ATP field. From 2022 to 2024, he posted season win-loss records of 57-13, 65-12, and 54-13, each time standing alone as the only player to surpass the 50-win mark. This year, he joins the milestone club once again.

The Spaniard’s 2025 season is already rich in silverware with five titles so far. He claimed Monte Carlo and Rome to push his ATP Masters 1000 title haul to seven. In June, he defended his French Open crown by toppling world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in a thrilling Roland Garros final. The roles reversed at Wimbledon, where Sinner edged him in the championship match. Alcaraz also won titles in Rotterdam and London. In the numbers, the heat, and the history, he continues to prove why his era might already be here.

Against Medjedovic in Cincinnati, Alcaraz managed the Ohio heat, notching his 13th consecutive Masters 1000 match win. “I know he’s a really powerful player,” Alcaraz said afterward. “His shots are incredibly hard to return. He has a big serve also. I know he doesn’t like to run too much from side to side, so my plan was to make him run as much as I could. It was difficult because his ball flies and it comes really fast, but I’m just glad that I did it most of the time… I’m just really happy to get the win.”

Only one player on the women’s side is currently within touching distance of this achievement: current world No. 3 Iga Swiatek. The Polish star collected 67, 68, and 64 wins from 2022 to 2024, dominating the WTA as no other woman even reached 50 in those years. In 2025, the reigning Wimbledon champion already sits at 45 wins.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
