At UFC 316, headlined by the bantamweight title rematch between Merab Dvalishvili vs. Sean O’Malley, we’ll also see Mario Bautista who’s ranked 10th in the Bantamweight division, take on Patchy Mix, the newly signed fighter in the division. Bautista, a UFC veteran will be fighting in his 18th MMA fight of his career, 12th overall in the UFC. He is currently on a 7 fight win streak and is trying to improve his record even further, to climb higher into the bantamweight division rankings.

Meanwhile, Patchy Mix has only lost one fight in his MMA career, and is a submission specialist, finishing more than 10 fights via making his opponents tap out. The fight is lined up to be a main card event, and it’ll be an exciting bout as many fans wait for Mix’s UFC debut.

Mix intends to get into the UFC bantamweight rankings after defeating the 10th ranked Bautista, meanwhile Bautista wants to spoil ‘No Love’s’ debut and climb the ranks further for a change at the title.

Mario Bautista’s MMA Journey

Mario Bautista’s began wrestling at the age of 14 and later trained in Jiu-Jitsu. Starting his professional MMA career in 2012 at MMA Lab in Arizona, Bautista went 6-0 in regional promotions before joining the UFC in 2019. His UFC career began in 2019 with a submission loss to Cory Sandhagen at UFC Fight Night. He rebounded win a knockout win over Miles John and a unanimous decision victory over Jin Soo Son.

After a TKO loss against Trevin Jones in 2021, Bautista went on a 7-fight win streak including submission victories over Brian Kelleher, Benito Lopez, and Guido Cannetti. His most recent fight was against the great Jose Aldo, which was a split decision win filled with controversy.

Currently ranked 10th in the division, Bautista is set to face Patchy Mix after Marlon Vera withdrew. His current record stands at 15-2-0, with a 73% finish rate.

Patchy Mix’s MMA Journey

Patch Mix, aka ‘No Love,’ is now a professional MMA fighter in the UFC bantamweight division. He’s a former Bellator Bantamweight champion and 2023 Grand Prix winner. Mix boasts a 20-1 record with 15 finishes. He is known for his grappling prowess and made his MMA debut in 2016 and trained at Xtreme Couture. He joined the UFC in 2025 and will be making his official debut against Mario Bautista at UFC 316.

Mix, in 2016, fought for King of the Cage promotion and went undefeated going 9-0 and was bantamweight champion. After his success in King of the Cage, Mix signed with Bellator MMA and the rest was history. Losing only against Juan Archuleta via a unanimous decision loss, Mix has never been knocked out so far, and was signed by the UFC in May 14, 2025.
