Manchester United Captain’s Future Uncertain As Saudi Giants Make Lucrative Offer, Coach Says Otherwise.

Bruno Fernandes recently received a huge offer from the Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. He was also given a deadline till Thursday to decide on the offer. Reportedly, the Manchester United captain is seriously considering a move to Saudi Arabia. Bruno Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho recently met Al-Hilal officials in Riyadh on Thursday. They meet face-to-face to talk at the Four Seasons hotel.

According to sources, the discussions were ‘positive’. However, as per The Athletic, the Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim has shown confidence that Fernandes could choose to stay. He said, “I think he wants to stay. He is saying no to a lot of things. The club can find other ways to make money. The feeling I get is that he wants to continue for sure with Man United, you never know.”

Al-Hilal are prepared to table a formal bid worth up to £100 million. The Saudi clubs are offering Fernandes a three-year deal that would reportedly quadruple his current weekly wage with the Red Devils. It would take his weekly salary from £280,000 to around £700,000 tax-free.

The package could even reach as high as £200 million including a few bonuses. A rival source confirmed Al-Hilal are looking at this as a ‘one-time opportunity’. They want Fernandes in place for their upcoming Club World Cup campaign. In the tournament, they will face Real Madrid, Salzburg, and Pachuca in the group stage.

Fernandes’ own words have only added fuel to the speculation. Following Manchester United’s Europa League final loss to Tottenham, he said: “If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cash-in, football sometimes is like this.” However, then, the Red Devils won against Aston Villa in their last game of the Premier League.

After that win, his tone softened as he said, “I am just a very lucky guy who is living his dream in one of the best clubs in the world… I just have to give it my all.” However, in the midst of the possibility of losing their captain, Man United and coach Amorim, for their part, appear relaxed.

As of now, Fernandes remains focused on United’s post-season tour in Asia. The post-season tour hasn’t exactly started well for the Red Devils.
