Jaxson Dart, the Ole Miss Quarterback, is an intriguing prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, who is known for his dual-threat ability and record setting college career. The 6-foot-2 quarterback started his college football career playing at USC before transferring to Ole Miss, where he became the program’s all-time pass leader with 10,617 passing yards, 72 passing touchdowns, on 22 interceptions. He had his breakout year in 2024, where he threw for 4279 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, on just 6 interceptions, while rushing for 495 yards.

Dart won multiple awards for his efforts in the 2024 season including Gator Bowl MVP in 2025, Conerly Trophy in 2024, 2024 All-SEC First Team and was the 2024 All-America Honorable Mention. Dart is widely considered a top quarterback prospect, in what is a weak draft class in terms of quarterback, and is often mentioned alongside the top three QBs in the 2025 Draft. He has risen up his draft stock in recent weeks and is viewed as one of the most pro-ready players amongst his peers.

Jaxson Dart steadily improved after each season, as his numbers climbed up with more experience that he got. While he may not be as physically gifted as the others, but he has good intangibles for the next level. He’s is decently accurate quarterback who completed 65.2 % of his passes, throughout four seasons. Dart is not the best when it comes to his run game, but can surprisingly find tough yards when the team desperately needs it. His ability will be thoroughly tested in the NFL, and his success will most likely come if he can see the field early and find the open man as quickly as possible. Many analysts compare him to the likes of QB Brock Purdy, who plays for the San Francisco 49ers.

According to the latest draft projection, the New Orleans Saints could trade up for QB Jaxson Dart as the 29th overall pick. Many analysts are already taking Dart over the likes of Shedeur Sanders, particularly due to the questions on Sanders’ reliability and if he can achieve similar success when it comes to the NFL.

With the hiring of head coach Kellen Moore, If Dart is drafted to the Saints, he could be the answer that the franchise is looking for as they went 5-12 last season.
