At UFC 314 on April 12, 2025, in Miami’s Kaseya Center, Dominick Reyes took on Nikita Krylov in a light heavyweight fight that kicked off the main card. The bout was a big deal for both the fighters as Reyes was riding a wave of momentum, while Krylov was returning after a long hiatus. Right from the start Krylov came out swinging, throwing leg kicks, and trying to close the distance first. He wanted to press Reyes and corner him into a messy fight.

Reyes, though, kept his cool and picking his shots more carefully that the Russian. About two minutes into the fight, Krylov charged forward, looking to land a big punch. However Reyes saw it coming, slipped to the side, and cracked him with a precisive left hook to the jaw, which made Krylov drop hard to the floor, and a couple of ground and pound punches sealed the deal for Reyes. The referee stopped the fight at 2:24 of the very first round and this was his third-straight finish, showing he’s got serious power and smarts to fight inside the octagon. Meanwhile, for Krylov, it was a tough return, snapping his streak of three consecutive wins.

Reyes Listed Three Fighters As His Next Potential Opponents

Dominick Reyes listed Aleksandar Rakic, the winner of the fight between Khalil Rountree vs. Jamahal Hill, and Jiri Prochazka, as the three opponents that he wants to face next, in a post-fight interview. When the reporter asked Reyes to name the three fighters he wants to face next, ‘The Devastator’ said “Rakic would be a great fight. The winner of Khalil and Jamahal Hill, and who doesn’t wanna see me rematch Jiri… That’s all I’m saying. Fight one of them and get the title, then I’ll fight all of them.”

Reyes had one of the most promising starts to a UFC career, and was 6-0 before facing Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 247, in February of 2020. Jones won the fight via unanimous decision and then Reyes went on to lose three more fights, going on a four fight losing streak, losing against Jones, Jan Blachowicz, Jiří Procházka, and Ryan Spann. However since June of 2024, Reyes was been on a tear, finishing all of his three opponents so far, and has resurrected his UFC career.
