“I get a call from my agent and he is like, ‘Hey, can you fight short notice?’ I was like, ‘What, short notice?’ And he was like, ’25 days.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah. Alright, sure.’ I hung up the phone and then he rings me back and goes, ‘Don’t you want to know who it’s against?’ I was like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s probably important.”

This seemingly nonchalant attitude toward matchmaking has split opinions among fans. Some view it as the mark of a true fighter who’s ready to face anyone, while others see it as either foolishness or, worse, a fabricated story to build hype. Whatever the case, this has brought more eyeballs to this fight.

What Is At Stake For Both Fighters?
