Sean Brady Surprised With How Good the London Crowd Was to Him!

At UFC Fight Night 255’s main event, we saw Sean Brady defeat Leon Edwards. Brady completely owned Edwards in the four rounds that they fought and the the Brit looked like he wasn’t half ready for what was thrown at him. Prior to his loss against Brady, Edwards had previously fought Belal Muhammad and even though he was defeated, he was at least not finished by the current champ.

However, against Brady, he was outmatched in almost every single statistical category including total strikes, significant strikes, takedowns, and also not to forget the guillotine choke from mount which made Edwards tap out in the fourth round of the contest.

Brady handed Edwards his first back-to-back losses and it was also the first time he was finished in a fight in his entire MMA career. It was an embarrassing loss in front of Edwards’ home crowd and we wonder what’s next for the former welterweight champion. On the other hand, Brady added another big name to his resume and has improved to an overall record of 18-1-0 in his MMA career, his only loss coming against Belal Muhammad at UFC 280.

The way he defeated Edwards at his own soil, Brady was surprised by how well the London crowd received him after the fight. Let us look at what he said about the way the people from London treated him.

When Ariel Helwani asked Sean Brady about how the people from London was towards him, he said:

“Dude, I’m from Philly (Philadelphia). I’m expecting to get torched out there. These people are coming up to me. I’m like, is Leon Edwards even from f**king London? Where’s this guy from? Because these people are being so nice to me. When Jeremy Stephens was here, when he fought Eddie (Alvarez), I was at the press conference. This man was getting destroyed by everybody.”

“If you were coming to Philly and you were fighting me, you would be getting roasted on the street, you would be getting roasted everywhere. Probably threatened to be honest but I got none of that in London. Everyone was super nice even on my walkout like they’re like it’s gonna be so bad, they’re gonna boo you. I got in the cage, I’m like this is nothing. So yeah it wasn’t bad at all.”

Philadelphia, if you didn’t know, has one of the most passionate fanbases and they will root heavily for you provided that you’re doing everything you can to win. When the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl this year, we saw what the championship parade looked like. The entire city was celebrating with the team and showed a lot of love for them.

However, if a team or an athlete from Philly loses, that same fanbase can be a nightmare for them. So if you’re from Philly, like Sean Brady is, you’d better be prepared mentally for what could happen if you lose!
