The front management and coaching staff of the Timberwolves are worried about Edwards’ increasing infractions. Some may speculate it could also affect the team’s chances of making the playoffs. Even though he relies heavily on his fierce competition, the financial and competitive costs are beginning to mount.

Anthony Edwards’ NBA fines in 2024/25

In the latest sequence of Edwards’ misconduct on the court, the 23-year-old was fined $35,000 following an ejection in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Receiving his sixth fine and 16th technical foul of the season, Edwards also faces an automatic one-game suspension.

The shooting guard has been taking numerous penalties since the start of the season. Edwards receive a fine of $35,000 for making obscene gestures on court against the Sacramento Kings in November 2024.

He also received a fine of $50,000 for making obscene gestures toward a game official during a game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Edwards has also been booked for using inappropriate language a couple of times this season. If we total his fines from the three occasions he used profane language, it results in $320,000 fines for the youngster.

Edwards’ six penalties as of March 2025 total $320,000 in fines by the NBA so far in 2024/25. He has lost 0.75% of his earnings for the year, since his salary for the 2024–2025 season is $42,176,400, according to Spotrac.

Edwards himself has addressed the fines, he needs to be more mindful of his actions. “That’s my money being taken,” he admitted in a recent press conference.
