Quentin Grimes had his career-night in 126-119 win against Warriors.

Quentin Grimes became the unlikely hero for the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday as his career-high night helped the side end their 9-game losing streak. The 76ers edged past Golden State Warriors 126-119 to improve their record to 21-38. Grimes came up with a game-leading performance and had his career-night with 44 points, six rebounds and one assist.

He not only led his side but also outscored the Warriors icon Stephen Curry, who finished the night with 29 points, five rebounds and 13 assists. Needless to say, NBA fans couldn’t keep calm and flooded social media to praise the former Dallas Mavericks player for bringing the side out of a performance slump.

“It feels good”- Quentin Grimes reflects on his career-high performance

Following the game, Grimes joined his former teammate Luka Doncic as the only guards this season to have 40+ points, 5+ rebounds, 2+ steals and 5+ three pointers.

Reflecting on his performance against the Warriors, Grimes said that he feels happy to help the side get back on the track following a streak of losses. After the game, he told ESPN, “It feels good. We went on a little bit of a bad streak in some games, to come out here and get a good win in front of the fans. I had a career night as well with it.”

Speaking about his team’s collective effort, he said, “We got a lot of guys capable of going out there and getting there any night. We just came together and stuck with it and with the game plan we got a good win for everybody collectively.”

Apart from him, Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 20 points, while Guerschon Yabusele had 18 points. On the Warriors’ side, Quinten Post scored 17 points, nine rebounds and one assist, while Gary Payton II finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

In their next game, the 76ers will lock horns with the Trail Blazers on Monday, March 3.
