Akira Tozawa Injury Update: What happened to Akira Tozawa?

Akira Tozawa had to face the wrath of an angered Carmelo Hayes after the latter was eliminated by Bron Breakker.

The 2025 Royal Rumble was the toughest Rumble of all time. Superstars like CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reign made sure it was an uphill task for others to win the Rumble. John Cena and Rey Mysterio participated in their last Royal Rumble kickstarting the former’s retirement tour. Rey Mysterio entered first followed by Penta while John Cena and Jey Uso were the last superstars remaining in the Rumble. Jey Uso eliminated John Cena to win the Rumble. Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, and AJ Styles returned from injury.

What happened to Akira Tozawa?

Akira Tozawa was entering his first Royal Rumble match at number 8 when an angry Carmelo Hayes hit him in the back of the head. Akira Tozawa was knocked out and officials took him backstage where they checked him for injury. WWE has yet not confirmed the extent of the injury but It was nothing major by the looks of it.

Triple H took an instant replacement decision and asked IShowSpeed to enter the Rumble. IShowSpeed lasted one minute and helped Bron Breakker to eliminate Otis. Bron delivered a spear to IShowSpeed and eliminated him. A furious Otis caught him and threw him over his head to the announcer’s table. IShowSpeed was later seen with a neckband and crutch.

When will Akira Tozawa be back?

Akira Tozawa didn’t suffer any major injury. He might be back on the next episode. He gave an update on his injury stating he will try to get one step closer the next time he enters the Rumble. The Alpha Academy star has been with WWE for eight years. It was his first Royal Rumble but Carmelo Hayes rain on his parade. It will be interesting to see how WWE utilizes this story.
