The Aces are now just one win away from lifting third WNBA title.

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson once again delivered a heroic performance to guide her side to a last-second win over the Phoenix Mercury 90-88 in Game 3 of the 2025 WNBA Finals. Wilson led the Aces with 34 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists. She was shooting 11-20 from the field and 11-12 from the free-throw line. Apart from posting her new Finals career-high, Wilson hit a winning jumper with 2.2 seconds remaining that pushed the Aces beyond the victory line and got a 3-0 lead in the ongoing best-of-seven series.

Apart from the four-time MVP, Jackie Young dropped 21 points, while recording three rebounds, and nine assists. Jewell Loyd and Chelsea Gray were other players who finished in double-digit scores with 16 and 11 points, respectively. Following the Wednesday-night game, the Aces are just a win away from lifting their third WNBA title in four years.

On the other hand, DeWanna Bonner led the Phoenix Mercury with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Satou Sabally dropped 24 points, five rebounds, and three assists while Kahleah Copper chipped in 17 points and two rebounds. Alyssa Thomas posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She also surpassed Lisa Leslie to grab seventh spot on all-time postseason rebounds list with 480 rebounds.

Las Vegas Aces Take the Game Despite Stern Competition From Phoenix Mercury in Last Quarter

Both teams put on a competitive first quarter with 23 points from the Mercury and 26 points from the Aces. The visitors then took control of the game and were in a 17-points lead as they entered the fourth quarter. While victory seemed near for Becky Hammon’s side, the hosts were in no mood to let go of their chance to make a comeback in the series. In the final quarter, the Mercury made a comeback in the game and soon cut the deficit to 10 points.

Despite having lost Satou Sabally to a head injury in the middle of the quarter, Kahleah Copper came up with a 9-0 run in less than 40 seconds. Everything had come down to one point, and from there on, it was the basket kept getting traded between both the teams. In the final 30 seconds, Mercury had a chance to take the lead, but Alyssa Thomas’ shot over Megan Gustafson didn’t go down.

Following a timeout with 5.0 seconds to go, Wilson came up with a game winner with less than a second remaining. While the Mercury had one chance to turn the game around with 0.3 seconds remaining, Bonner’s shot came off as time expired.

Overall, the Aces were shooting 42.6% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc. Phoenix, on the other hand, shot 43.9% from the field and 33.3% from deep.
