2025 NFL QB Ranking Week 5 Josh Allen Still at the Top, Patrick Mahomes Slides Further, and More

Eric Divakaran

Now that Week 5 is in the books, there have been a lot of surprises this week, with some teams stepping up big time and making valuable contribution to their teams. In that regard, the article will feature top NFL QB ranking after Week 5.

2025 NFL QB Ranking Week 5

As we all know, quarterbacks are the most important player in the team, even though there are some very invaluable positions that cannot be replaced. The team goes where the quarterback goes, is generally something we have heard and that continues to be the case till this day. That said, here are the article will feature the 2025 NFL QB ranking for Week 5.

Rank 1 – Josh Allen (4-1)

Josh Allen, in our opinion, stays at the top even though the Buffalo Bills fell to the New England Patriots. The Bills started 4-0 this season but there was always some holes in their defense, which came raining down against the Patriots. Allen had a decent game, but it’s clear that if the Bills are stopped and cannot put points on the offensive end, they are extremely vulnerable.

Rank 2 – Jared Goff (4-1)

Jared Goff continues to stay at the No. 2 spot after Week 5. Goff has been leading the Detroit Lions to wins after wins, after losing their first game to the Green Bay Packers. The Lions haven’t looked like they are missing a beat even after letting their coordinators walk away.

Rank 3 – Baker Mayfield (4-1)

Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have gotten off to an excellent start at 4-1 on this season, only losing against the Philadelphia Eagles. Mayfield has been stellar this season and has been on a roll with his wideout Emeka Egbuka. He has 10 TDs and just one pick through the first five games.

Rank 4 – Daniel Jones (4-1)

We moved Daniel Jones some spots up from last week and the reason is simple, the Indianapolis Colts are winning ball games. While Colts blew out a Raiders team who’s heavily struggling this season, Jones has been outstanding this season, and have looked like a threat to make some noise in the post season, if they continue on this trajectory.

Rank 5 – Aaron Rodgers (3-1)

Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers did not play this Week, but have been off to a great start this season. Despite being 41 years old, when surrounding him with the right crew, Rodgers has proved once again that he is some of the best QBs in the league still.

Rank 6 – Jalen Hurts (4-1)

The Philadelphia Eagles just lost their first match against the Denver Broncos in week 5, which was surprising to many. However, the Broncos have stout defense and sacked them 6 times. The Eagles have been struggling on the offensive end and were barely able to pull off wins at times this season. Despite some of the problem, Hurts is still one of the best QBs in the league.

Rank 7 – Matthew Stafford (3-2)

Matthew Stafford has been having a decent season so far, leading the Rams to a (3-2) record. The Rams did lose in week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers, but Stafford put up a great performance going for 3 total TDs and 389 passing yards.

Rank 8 – Sam Darnold (3-2)

Sam Darnold has not lost a beat, even after getting traded from Minnesota to Seattle. He’s helping the Seahawks win games, and they are looking like a contender for the 2025 playoffs. The Seahawks, however, lost a close game to the Buccaneers this Week, but Darnold still put up 341 yards, 4 TDs, and an interception, on an absurd 82.4% pass completion.

Rank 9 – Patrick Mahomes (2-3)

The Kansas City Chiefs are having a terrible season by their standards. Losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5, the Chiefs defense and offense have significantly fallen off and just have not looked the same since their loss in the Super Bowl in February. While Mahomes is still doing his thing, he needs to rally the troops back in order to change something for the Chiefs.

Rank 10 – Justin Herbert (3-2)

Justin Herbert has fallen off to the 10th spot on our list and it’s because of the back-to-back losses against the Giants in Week 4 and the Commanders in Week 5. In Week 5, Herbert put up just 166 yards with a TD, and an INT, losing to them 10-27. While the Chargers still are at top of the AFC West, their two game losing streak is a cause of concern.

Honorable Mentions: Trevor Lawrence (4-1) Lamar Jackson (1-4)

Trevor Lawrence has led the Jaguars to a 4-1 record this season and just had a 221 yards, 18/25 completed passes, a TD, and a INT, game against the Chiefs, handing Mahomes their third loss of the season. He’s been great and has the Jags second in AFC South, only behind the Colts.

Two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, despite the Ravens’ terrible start this season, has still put up solid numbers and he just cannot be ignored on this list. He is currently out with a hamstring injury, crippling the Ravens even further. However, the Ravens haven’t been in full strength so far, and once they come back fully or mostly healthy, we’ll get to see how far Jackson can truly take this team. For now, the Ravens’ playoff chances are looking slim.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
