Yuki Tsunoda Becomes the Only Veteran Formula 1 Driver Without a Podium on the 2025 F1 Grid!

Rohan Singh

Yuki Tsunoda's troubles continue in 2025

Yuki Tsunoda is racing for Red Bull Racing in the 2025 season. The long-time Red Bull junior driver found himself in the coveted Red Bull Racing at his home race in Japan. Since then, Tsunoda has participated in 10 races with the main team- Red Bull Racing. His performance at Racing Bulls/ AlphaTauri made him a fan favourite among the previous drivers at Red Bull Racing. However, Yuki Tsunoda couldn’t live up to the hype.

The team is sure that they will allow Yuki Tsunoda ample time to prove himself. Although, according to Guenther Steiner, Tsunoda needs to bring his A-game before he is replaced. There is a common consensus that Yuki will find himself out of the team after the 2025 season. Yuki Tsunoda’s performance is lagging behind his teammate by a huge margin. In majority of the race weekends, he found himself losing out to rookie driver- Isack Hadjar in the Racing Bulls.

Yuki Tsunoda is Still Without a Podium in Formula 1 Among Other Veteran Drivers

Yuki Tsunoda has been racing in Formula 1 since 2021. Tsunoda was brought in as a driver for AlphaTauri, Red Bull’s sister team. The young Japanese had frequent outbursts over the radio which gave him a bad reputation.

Tsunoda was unable to bring in better performance compared to his teammate Pierre Gasly. While the former Red Bull Racing driver managed to claim podiums and his first race victory in Formula 1, Tsunoda was still trying to scourge for points. After Gasly’s exit from the team, Tsunoda immediately took up the mantle of the lead driver. In the past three years at Racing Bulls/ AlphaTauri, Tsunoda has been all of his teammates.

He has consistently driven better than Daniel Ricciardo, Liam Lawson, Nyck De Vries and Isack Hadjar at the sister team. However, Yuki Tsunoda has yet to hit the podium once.

Last weekend, Nico Hülkenberg won the third place at the British Grand Prix. This leaves Yuki Tsunoda in a rather awkward position. Tsunoda is now the only veteran Formula 1 driver without a podium on the 2025 grid. The 2025 rookies are the only ones sharing his quest for first podium.

Tsunoda has not had the best of seasons with Red Bull Racing. It is hardly the debut he was wishing for after waiting for so many years. The young Japanese driver has to handle the pressure and bring in better results.

He might not return to Formula 1 the next season at the rate things are progressing currently.
