WWE SummerSlam: Becky Lynch(c) vs. Lyra Valkyria, WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title No DQ Match, Preview and Prediction

Lyra Valkyria gets another opportunity to get her title back.

Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch have had quite a history with one another. Friend turned foe on Raw after WrestleMania when Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria lost the title a day after winning it. It was later revealed that Becky Lynch was the one who attacked Bayley to replace her as Lyra Valkyria’s WrestleMania tag team partner. Lyra Valkyria was the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion, but she lost her title to Becky Lynch.

Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch met inside the ring twice for the WWE Women’s IC title match, and while Lyra Valkyria defended her title successfully for the first time, Becky Lynch won the title second time around. Lyra Valkyria asked for the rematch when Bayley returned to WWE and assaulted Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch and Bayley met inside the ring, and the latter would have won the match had Lyra Valkyria not assaulted Becky Lynch.

Lyra Valkyria and Bayley had a dispute, and it was announced that they would face each other to decide the #1 contender for the WWE Women’s IC title. The match, however, ended in a double pinfall, and the Women’s IC title match turned triple-threat. Becky Lynch was able to successfully defend her title at WWE Evolution against both Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch.

Lyra Valkyria and Bayley fought against each other to decide the #1 contender for the Women’s IC championship at SummerSlam, this time in a two-out-of-three countout match. Lyra Valkyria beat Bayley to become the #1 contender, but that wasn’t enough. Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria increased the stack by making the match a No DQ match, where the latter would never challenge Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s IC title again if she loses.

Becky Lynch is speculated to lose her title to the former Women’s IC Champion, Lyra Valkyria. WWE would provide yet another push to the young superstar. Lyra Valkyria has shown promising signs of becoming an upcoming women’s roster sensation. WWE provided her with an early push when she became the first WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. She defeated Bayley and will now take on Becky Lynch at SummerSlam 2025.
