WWE SmackDown: WWE Women’s United States Championship Match, Giulia Shocks the World, New Title Reign Begins

Giulia defeats Zelina Vega, starts her first title reign.

Giulia and Zelina Vega faced each other for the WWE Women’s United States Championship on Friday Night SmackDown, and Giulia proved her mettle when she defeated the United States Champion Zelina Vega to become the New Champion. This is the first title victory for Giulia post her main roster debut.

Giulia has cleared the air about going for the Women’s United States Championship the moment she made her debut. She and Zelina Vega had a war of words, but Giula shocked everyone when she helped Zelina Vega retain her title against the assault of The Green Regime. She, however, made her intention clear when she attacked Zelina Vega after that.

Giulia Ends Zelina Vega’s WWE United States title reign

Giulia gained the upper hand in the match initially, but his attacks were met with equal responses. Zelina stated building momentum going into the match and countered a Northern Lightbomb and then delivered her finisher, Code Red, to Giulia. She would have won the match then and there, but Giulia was too close to the ropes.

Giulia hyperextended her legs to touch the bottom rope and broke the count. Giulia then started an all-out attack, first delivering a running knee to the face of Zelina Vega. She followed it up with a Northern Light Bomb to win the match and become the New WWE Women’s United States Champion. This ended the 63-day United States Championship title reign of Zelina Vega.

Giulia won her first title within months of her debut and received a huge push from WWE. With this, she now has a target on her back. Who will come after her first? Time will tell.
