Ashish Negi

Is Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre rivalry finally resolved?

Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre have been each other’s mortal enemies since the dawn of time. Their rivalry became dormant for some time, but then came the Royal Rumble, and it caught fire again. Damian Priest has cost Drew McIntyre the WWE Heavyweight title and multiple title opportunities over the past year. It started with his MITB cash-in over Drew at WrestleMania 40 that shortened the latter’s title reign to 5 minutes only.

Damian Priest then cost him the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber both, and the dispute turned into an all-out rage. They brawled their way to WrestleMania, where Drew McIntyre scored a victory, but Damian Priest didn’t want that result. He attacked Drew McIntyre of SmackDown and cost him the United States Championship when he was about to pin LA Knight at Backlash 2025. He also injured Drew McIntyre in the process.

Damian Priest Leveled the Score, McIntyre To Be Out For the Foreseeable Future

Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre were inside the ring to punish each other to the extent that the other would leave on a stretcher. Drew McIntyre executed a Superplex on Damian Priest when the latter attempted to escape. He followed it up with a Claymore, but Damian Priest managed to kick out. He then stuck a chair at the side of the ring and tried to repeat his WrestleMania moves where he Claymored Damian Priest’s head on the chair.

Damian Priest, however, was able to dodge his move, and Drew injured his leg. Damian Priest then smashed Drew McIntyre’s neck with the edge of the steel chair and delivered a South of Heaven to him. He followed it up with a Con-Chair-To to Drew McIntyre. Damian Priest won the match by walking out of the Steel Cage. Drew McIntyre refused to be stretchered out of the ring.

According to PWInsider, Drew McIntyre entered this match with a neck injury, and he would be out of WWE and TV for the foreseeable future. This was Drew McIntyre’s time to shine, but he got injured concern causing him to stay away from WWE yet again.
