Drew McIntyre is known for the sheer intensity he brings to the table during his matches. He has been a superstar who has been a crowd favorite even when he was a heel. He has donned the Antihero persona for so long and so well that his moves are now appreciated even when he posts getting bored at work while being in a wrestling match.

Drew McIntyre’s rivalry with Damain Priest has been on a whole different level now. A rivalry that might make one’s career while ruining others. It all started at WrestleMania 40 but didn’t end at WrestleMania 41. Drew won the match at WrestleMania, but the rivalry was far from over. Damian Priest returned and cost Drew McIntyre yet another match at Backlash 2025.

What Happened to Drew McIntyre?

Drew McIntyre has not been 100% and he confirmed it before his match against Damian Priest at Saturday Night Main Event. He was wrestling with an injured neck. The assault of the match would have only aggravated the injury; however, he didn’t sustain the injury during today’s match. The injury might have occurred at Backlash when he received a South of Heaven, and his head hit the concrete.

Earlier today, Damian Priest settled the score with Drew McIntyre, defeating him in a Steel Cage match by delivering him a Con-Chair-To. Damian Priest didn’t pin Drew McIntyre but walked out of the Steel Cage to win the match. According to PWInsider, Drew McIntyre will not be part of WWE for the foreseeable future following this brutal loss.

When Will Drew McIntyre be back?

Sources have confirmed that Drew McIntyre was injured but working and finished his dates with WWE at Saturday Night Main Event. He will be taking an extended break from WWE. This time off might be to heal from his injury. We will wish him a speedy recovery.
