CM Punk hints at his retirement at Wrestlmania 41
The first WWE RAW after the Survivor Series 2024 was able to kickstart the new rivalries. From a segment between the “Best in the World” CM Punk and Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins to Drew McIntyre returning to RAW and attacking Sami Zayn, we saw new storylines brewing in the background.
The WWE has already declared two Saturday Night Main Event matches on December 14, 2024. One for the Undisputed Championship between K.O. Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes and the other for the Women’s United States Championship final. We might have seen a few more seeds planted for the Main Event.
CM Punk started today’s event amidst loud cheers of CM Punk from the crowd. In his segment, when he was acknowledging the crowd, we saw him pointing toward a corner of the arena, where the WrestleMania sign is hung before the megaevent. It can be speculated that the “best in the world” CM Punk is going to retire after the upcoming WrestleMania.
Seth Rollins pointed out that he was wrong in sparing CM Punk after his match at the Bad Blood against Drew McIntyre. CM Punk retaliated that he doesn’t even think of him as a competition and asked him to stay away from his business. They had a brawl but it was stopped by Jey Uso and Sami Zayn. A match between CM Punk and Seth Rollins can be the perfect storyline for the fans to be drawn to the arena like a moth to fire.
Sami and Seth had a segment where they both blamed each other for the rise of the OTC. Seth pointed out that Jey and Sami sided with CM Punk to which Sami responded that they would have never teamed up with CM Punk, had Rollins not denied teaming up with them twice.
Rollins again pointed out that they had to go through a lot to put Roman out of power in WWE, and Jey Uso and Sami helping a monster win the WarGames doesn’t help that cause, especially after how he treated them. Sami said he was the one who created a monster. Both went on and on and it was decided that they would battle against each other for today’s main event.
Their match was full of agility and high-risk maneuvers. None of the superstars were ready to give in. Seth said that he doesn’t want this fight as his fight is with CM Punk. Sami was in no mood to hear it and accused him of attacking Jey Uso backstage. He was dominating the match however Seth was able to pin him at the end.
Drew Claymore kicked Sami Zayn following his defeat to Seth Rollins. McIntyre was out of action since he lost to CM Punk at Bad Blood. While WWE is still looking into the backstage attack on superstars like Jey Uso and Jade Cargill, we may see a match between Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre very soon.

Finn Balor attacked Damian Priest at Survivor Series which cost him the match. They had a brawl backstage where numbers game played against Damian Priest, however, Liv and Dirty Dom didn’t seem pleased with it. Finn pointed out that they must have not lost at WarGames had they listened to him. It seems that there is a civil war inside Judgment Day and the team is soon to break.
Finn later asked Gunther for a title match pointing out that he helped Gunther twice to get over Damian Priest and he didn’t deserve a boot to his face for that. Gunther responded that he didn’t need his help and instead asked Dirty Dominic Mysterio to face him as Dom pinned Damian Priest while Finn never did.
Dominic Mysterio had a match against the Ring General and he dominated the match initially however his agility was of no use against the Ring General’s strength. A vicious powerbomb to Dirty Dom ended the match. Finn attacked Gunther from behind with a Sling Blade and three Coup De Grace. He mocked Dom by saying watch and learn kid and hope you learned your lesson this time.
Finn demanded Adam Pierce for a title shot against Gunther to which he responded that he wanted that match as bad as Finn wanted it. The two superstars are decided to lock horns against each other at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The Genius of the Sky earned a title shot by winning Battle Royal on November 4. WWE has scheduled her match against Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s Championship at the Saturday Night Main Event.
New Day celebrated its 10th anniversary while acknowledging the crowd. Big E entered the ring amidst a rumor of a divide between the New Day. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods didn’t like it much and blamed him for leaving them. They asked him to get out of the ring and handle the desk job. Big E had a neck injury due to which he is currently out of action.
