WWE Raw: Lyra Valkyria vs. Bayley, 2-out-of-3-fallout Match for WWE IC Title Match at SummerSlam

Bayley and Lyra Valkyria fought till they were drained off their strength

Bayley and Lyra Valkyria have had a lot of history between them. From being best friends, to tag team partners, to each other’s mortal enemy, their relationship has seen it all. The reason for the dispute between them is the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship title. They faced each other tonight in a 2-out-of-3-fallout count match, the winner of which would face Bayley at SummerSlam for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Lyra Valkyria was the one who didn’t like Bayley getting a title shot at Becky Lynch ahead of her. They, however, buried the hatchet, but Lyra attacked Becky Lynch, and the match between Becky Lynch and Bayley ended in DQ. This started a dispute between Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. They faced Becky Lynch in a triple threat, but their dispute with each other gave Becky Lynch an easy escape as she retained her title at Evolution.

Lyra Valkyria Wins the 2-out-of-3-fallout Count Match, Will Face Becky at SummerSlam

Lyra Valkyria won the 2-out-of-3-fallout count match even after getting pinned first in the match. She will now face Becky Lynch at SummerSlam for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship match. Lyra Valkyria was the inaugural owner of the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title until she lost it to Becky Lynch. She has been trying to get her hands on the title ever since.

Bayley and Lyra Valkyria fought hard in the match, but the latter let her emotions take over and tapped Bayley on her head. The veteran rolled her up and scored the first pin to take a 1-0 lead in a 2-out-of-3 fallout count match. Lyra Valkyria dominated the match after that and increased the intensity of her attack; not only that, she was able to counter most of Bayley’s moves. The veteran, however, utilized her experience to get back into the match.

Lyra Valkyria countered a pin attempt from Bayley and scored her first pin to level the score. Lyra Valkyria showed great durability during the match. These two superstars drained each other badly during the match. There were nearfall after nearfall till both opponents were physically and mentally exhausted. Bayley was so close to victory when she locked Lyra into a Cross-face.

Lyra was about to touch the rope when Bayley tried to roll her back to lock Cross-face again, but Lyra countered it with a Nightwing to secure the second pin and win the match.
