WWE Friday Night SmackDown Results 4th January 2025: 5 Key Takeaways as Tiffany Stratton cashes her MITB!

The first New Year 2025 episode of WWE SmackDown Live featured a Women’s Championship match between Nia Jax and Naomi and a non-title match between Andrade and Shinsuke Nakamura. Cody Rhodes addressed the crowd after Kevin Owens attacked him last week. This Friday Night SmackDown featured a six-man tag team match between The Usos and Sami Zayn vs. Solo Sikoa and his bloodline as the main event.

The match between the Tag Team Champions DIY and Motor City Machin Guns ended in a disqualification owing to an interruption from Pretty Deadly and Los Garzas. Motor City Machin Guns were dominating the match when Pretty Deadly entered the arena to distract Motor City Machin Guns. This handed over the advantage to DIY but Los Garzas entered the arena to even the odds.

Tiffany Stratton is our New Women’s Champion!

Nia Jax defended her Women’s Championship title against Naomi. The match between the Irresistible force’s other worldly strength and awesome in-ring maneuvers of Naomi went to near stalemate numerous times.

Both the superstars engaged the crowd with there never give up attitude. If it wasn’t for Tiffany, the match would have stretched a little further. Tiffany hit Naomi with the Money in the Bank Briefcase and Nia Jax hit her with an Annihilator to win the match.

Nia celebration was cut short as Tiffany attacked Candice LeRae and Nia with the MITB briefcase. Bianca joined the party and hit Nia with a KOD. Tiffany threw EST over the announcer’s table and delivered the “Prettiest Moonsault Ever” to Nia and became the new WWE Women’s Champion.

Kevin Owens and Cody engaged in another brawl after Drew McIntyre interrupted Cody’s Segment.

After kicking off SmackDown live, Cody Rhodes was acknowleding the crowd about Kevin Owens attacked him on the last Friday Night SmackDown. Drew McIntyre interrupted his segment, entered the ring and to surprise of everyone, hugged him. He told Cody that he is here to help him. Cody responded that he doesnt believe anything that Drew said.

The Scottish Warrior warned him to watch his back post which Kevin entered the ring and attacked Cody from behind. The American Nightmare and K.O. engaged in a brawl with each other. The official ran in to separate them while they tried to get their hands on one another.

Solo Sikoa and his bloodline vs The Usos and Sami Zayn

These two team have hold their hatred for a long time. Solo Sikoa and his bloodline were attacking The Usos and Sami Zayn and it was about time that they locked horns in the ring. Both the team wrestled inside and outside the ring. The Six-Man Tag Team match saw many high risk maneuver and near stalemate.

Jey Uso was dominating the match when Drew McIntyre entered the arena. A distracted Jey fall prey to Jacob Fatu, who delivered a Samoan drop to him. Jacob Fatu miss a Samoan Hip attack. Jey Uso delivered a spear followed by the Uso Splash to Jacob Fatu however, he didn’t realise that Solo Sikoa is the legal man. Solo took advantage and delivered a Samoan Spike to Jey to win the match.

Solo asked Paul Heyman to hold the Ulafala

His name is Paul Heyman and he would hold the Ulafala during the Tribal Combat between Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns at RAW’s Netflix Premiere. Solo asked Paul Heyman to hold the Ulafala during the match and if the OTC wins the Combat, Solo would acknowledge him as the New Tribal Chief. Solo said that if he win the match at the RAW’s Netflix Premiere, Paul would put the Ulafala around Solo’s neck and he would forever be Solo’s Wiseman.

LA Knight assault Shinsuke Nakamura after the latter defeat Andrade.

The match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Andrade was full of breathtaking moves. Both the stars know each other so well that they were able to counter each other’s moves. Andrade tried the superplex from the top of the ring but Nakamura countered and slammed Andreade face-first on the ring post. He delivered a Kinshasa to Andrade and retained his title. LA Knight entered the ring and launched a brutal attack on Shinsuke Nakamura and announced that he is back to take his title back.

Michin def. Piper Niven

Michin had to face both Piper Niven and Chelsea Green who was assisting Niven from the ring side. Chelsea Green distraction gave advantage to Niven numerous times in the match. Niven dominated the match most of the time but Michin was able to counter a bodyslam from Niven. Michin delivered Eat-Defeat to Piper Niven and won the match. She announced her rivalry against Chelsea Green for the Women’s United States Championship.
