Will an injured Sami Zayn be able to conquer a deranged Kevin Owen?
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens always had a bitter-sweet relationship that has seen its share of betrayal. No one can guess when either of them will betray the other. Just when everybody thought that they were back to being brothers to each other, Kevin Owens attacked Sami Zayn from behind and delivered a Package Piledriver to him. Sami who was sprinting around the ring to check on Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens during their brutal ladder match at the 2025 Royal Rumble was shell-shocked at the betrayal.
Sami Zayn suffered extreme nerve damage and spinal compression. He took to X giving an update on his condition stating he is continuously working with the specialist. He blamed K.O. for trying to end his career and warned him about the consequences. The pain that Kevin inflicted upon Sami was both physically and mentally unbearable. Sami was the one to carry Kevin out of the ring when the latter was injured severely at the Rumble.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced that the match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens is not official but unsanctioned. Sami Zayn returned to Raw for the first time after his injury and straightaway addressed the challenge Kevin Owens threw at him in response to his X post. Kevin Owens responded to Sami Zayn’s post stating the latter didn’t know what pain is. He asked Sami for a match at the Elimination Chamber whether the latter recovers from his injury or not.

Sami Zayn accepted the challenge but Adam Pearce refused to make it official stating Sami was not medically clear to compete. He warned Sami that if they made the match official, they would not be able to prevent Kevin’s assault on Sami. Sami refused to leave the ring before he got his match. This forced Adam Pearce to announce an unofficial unsanctioned match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at the Elimination Chamber 2025. The officials would not be liable or responsible for anything that happened to them inside the squared ring.
