Sami Zayn still to be medically cleared to join WWE again.
Sami Zayn has been out of WWE ever since Kevin Owens sneak-attacked him. Sami Zayn was part of the most brutal match against CM Punk who appreciated his efforts after the match. CM Punk shook Sami’s hand but this happiness didn’t last long for the latter. Kevin Owens attacked Sami Zayn from behind and performed a Package Piledriver on him. Sami Zayn suffered a neck injury, spinal compression, and severe nerve damage and was taken out on a stretcher.
Kevin Owens took to X and blamed Sami for not helping him during his ladder match against Cody Rhodes at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Kevin Owens has been obsessed with Package Piledriver and has been trying to deliver this move to every wrestler that he fought. He has delivered it successfully to his three former friends, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and now Sami Zayn. Randy Orton has been out of WWE ever since. It’s not new for Kevin Owens to blame others for his ill-doing.
Sami Zayn took to X for the first time post his injury and claimed that he would return to get his revenge on Kevin Owens. He first apologized to the crowd for not giving an update about his injury and stated he was not doing good. He would be out of WWE for an infinite amount of time but he is continuously working with specialists. Sami claimed that he was trying to come to terms with everything that happened between him and Kevin. He mentioned that turning against each other has been an unavoidable aspect of their relationship.
Sami mentioned that this one was different as Kevin tried to end his career with a Package Piledriver. He however struggles with the fact that Kevin tried to end his career over a wrestling match. He reminded Kevin Owens that he consistently checked on him and Cody Rhodes during their match. He asked doctors to assist him and took him out once the match was over. He claimed that Kevin however wanted him to help him cheat his way to win. Sami stated that he and Kevin are gonna go again and it’s not going to be fun this time around.
