Lewis Hamilton responds to his critics on his 2025 season.
The 2025 season is one for changes. The entire grid had been going through transition this year. The top teams went through a shuffle and Mclaren came out on top. Similarly, the driver’s championship was no longer the lonely story of Verstappen’s ruthless victories.
Lewis Hamilton and his shift to Ferrari is also one of the biggest narratives of this season. Hamilton chose to complete his final dance with Ferrari in hopes of winning an eighth championship title.

This move brought and end to one of the most dominant and successful run of a team-driver pairing in Formula 1. But, this legendary driver has found himself in a tight situation this year. Hamilton is not able to produce wins and podiums effortlessly in 2025 yet again.
It seems like his team has taken a step backward after an amazing campaign in 2025. The over the top yet serious performance issues at Ferrari are also taking a toll on Lewis Hamilton’s mind in 2025.
With fame, comes criticism. Hamilton is one of the prime examples for the same. The seven-time champion is undoubtedly the best in the history of Formula 1. Even then, he has to go through harsh criticism from experts and F1 fans.

Hamilton’s slow pace in his new Ferrari is not up to the mark. To make matters worse, Hamilton is constantly beat by his teammate Charles Leclerc. Charles Leclerc is utilising his previous experience at Ferrari and claiming better points for the Maranello Team. On Thursday’s media day, Hamilton revealed his personal struggles.
When asked about his take on criticism, Hamilton said-
“I find myself having to just remind myself: I have won seven world titles. I have won more than any other driver in history. I have to remind myself that I also have done great things.”
Lewis Hamilton is evidently struggling to find his speed at Ferrari. But, it is obvious that the people who have worked with him are confident about him. Sebastian Vettel, George Russell, Fred Vasseur are among the people who have been backing him up in 2025. His former team principal, Toto Wolff, also talked about his magical racing style recently.
There’s no doubt that Hamilton is still among the best on the grid. But, the constant nagging he has to face everytime he doesn’t perform might have been difficult for him.
I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university's Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
