Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging at 31.6 points with 5.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 2024-25 season,

The four-match winning streak of the Oklahoma City Thunder came to an end as they went down to the Dallas Mavericks 106-98 on Friday, January 17. The Thunder was riding on the back of their blowout win over the Cleveland Cavaliers 134-114 on Thursday.

Thunder’s clash against the Mavericks saw the absence of MVP frontrunner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who missed his first game of the season. He was out with a sore wrist, which he sustained during Thunder’s clash with the Cavaliers.

During the game, the 26-year-old landed on his wrist and was visibly in discomfort. The injury restricted his gameplay to three quarters, and he was later seen with his wrist wrapped in the ice. Before the injury compelled him to walk away, Shai reached a new high with 40 points and eight assists in just 29 minutes. With his record, he became the only second player in the season to score 40+ within the 30-minute time limit.
